Al Dameer Association for Human Rights strongly condemns the Israeli escalation of its attacks in Gaza, which resulted in the death of two Palestinian children and the injury of another one. This attack comes in a context of escalation on Gaza border. Moreover, bulldozers leveled lands that have been frequently razed before.
According to Al Dameer’s investigations, at approximately 11:00am on Sunday, 20 March 2011, Palestinian ambulances collected the dead bodies of Imad Mohammed Issa Farajallah, 16, and Qasem Salah Salman Abu Ittawi, 16. Both of them are from Nuseirat refugee camp. At approximately 09:00pm, on 19 March 2011, IOF stationed along the border line east of Juhr Addik village in central the Gaza Strip fired several artillery shells and leveled vast areas of agricultural lands.
Al Dameer Association for Human Rights views with great concern the IOF escalation of its artillery shell attacks on the Gaza Strip.
In the light of the above, Al Dameer:
- Renews its condemnation of crimes committed by IOF in the OPT, which reflect total disregard for the lives of Palestinian civilians.
- Calls upon the international community to take immediate action in order to put an end to such crimes, and calls upon the High Contracting Parties to the Fourth Geneva Convention to fulfill their obligation under article 1 of the Convention to ensure respect for the Convention in all circumstances.
